SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

The artistic director of the orchestra is Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan Abzal Mukhitdin.


The chief conductor is the laureate of international competitions Kalkaman Dyusembayev. The conductor is the holder of the Order of "Kurmet" Arman Zhaiym.
 

The Symphony orchestra Of the state academic Philharmonic of the mayor's office of Astana was founded in 1999 and is one of the best professional groups in the capital. The group's repertoire includes the best works of Kazakh and foreign symphonic literature.

The orchestra performs works by national luminaries Akhmet and Gaziza Zhubanov, Tles kazhgaliev, Kapan Musin, Yevgeny Brusilovsky, Yerkegali rakhmadiev, Timur Mynbayev, Bazarbay Dzhumaniyazov, Alibi Mambetov, and Mansur Sagatov. It also introduces the audience to the works of contemporaries-the music of Artyk Toksanbayev, Serik Yerkimbekov, Kenes Duisekeyev, Almas Serkebayev, Serikzhan Abdinurov, Gulzhan Uzenbayeva, Arman Zhayym, and many others.

For the first time in Astana, the Philharmonic Symphony orchestra performed Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 5, Dmitry Shostakovich's Leningrad Symphony No. 7, Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, Sergei Taneyev's John of Damascus cantata, Alexander Scriabin's Poem of ecstasy, Igor Stravinsky's Symphony in three movements, and so on.

With the participation of the Symphony orchestra, the operas "Carmen" by Georges Bizet, "Aleko" by Sergei Rachmaninoff, "Tales of Hoffman" by Jacques Offenbach, "Aisulu" by Sydyk Mukhamedzhanov, "Kurmangazy" by Akhmet and Gaziza Zhubanov were performed in concert.

The variety of programs and the high level of performance of the Symphony orchestra are noted not only by the listeners of Astana, but also far beyond its borders. In 2011, the orchestra participated in a large-scale production of Hisham Gabr's first Arabic musical Praxas with the Egyptian Opera house (premiered in Muscat in 2011).

In 2017, the VI Bengal classical music festival (Bengal classical music fest) was held in Dhaka (Bangladesh), recognized as one of the largest festivals in the world. 40,000 spectators warmly applauded the outstanding violinist L. Subramaniyam and The Symphony orchestra of the Moscow Philharmonic.

In 2019, the Symphony orchestra toured the cities of France as part of the Festival Des Orchestres Du Monde ("Festival of cities of the world"). The team of the Moscow Philharmonic became the first domestic orchestra at this event.

To preserve the best traditions of musical culture, the Symphony orchestra has collaborated or collaborates with leading conductors of Kazakhstan and foreign countries, such as Krzysztof Penderecki (Poland); Saulius Sondeckis (Latvia); Vladimir Ashkenazi, Robert Gutter (USA); Count Murzha (Hungary); Alexander Tchaikovsky, Yevgeny Bushkov, Alexander Verbitsky, Dmitry Khokhlov, Fuat Mansurov, Rinat Salavatov, Peter Gribanov, Nikolai Klinov, Vladimir Verbitsky (Russia); Stephanos ziales, Anastasios Pappas (Greece); Marko hibernik (Slovenia); Philippe Yui (France); Christian deliso (Italy); Benjamin Yusupov, Vah Papyan (Israel); Yoon Ki-Yong (South Korea); Tolepbergen Abdrashev, Raisa Sadykova, Abzal Mukhitdinov, Alan Buribayev (Kazakhstan) , etc.

The Symphony orchestra is proud to perform together with outstanding contemporary musicians: Bibigul Tulegenova, Ayman musakhadzhayeva, Zhania Aubakirova, Nurzhamal Usenbayeva, Maira mukhamedkyzy, Gulzhan Uzenbayeva, Marat Bisengaliev, Amir Tebenikhin (Kazakhstan); Placido Domingo, Gloria Companer (Italy); Vladimir Krainev, Yuri Rozum, Sergey Kravchenko, Ilya Grubert, Denis Matsuev, Igor Gavrysh, Maxim Fedotov, Kirill Rodin (Russia); Takashi Shimitsu (Japan); Francesca Calero, Jose Antonio Fuertes (Spain); barseg Tumanyan, Armen Babakhanyan (Armenia);  Kim Hyun-SIL, Zu Ye-Rin, (South Korea) and many others.

The Symphony orchestra of the Moscow Philharmonic conducts an active concert activity, not stopping there and constantly improving its skills.
