The folk ensemble "Saryarka" was organized in 1998 under the leadership of cultural figure Nurlan Khamzin. The artistic Director of the group is togzhan Zhakhin. The ensemble's repertoire includes a rich heritage of the Kazakh people: folk, professional and academic music.

The ensemble "Saryarka" employs highly professional musicians, in whose hands ancient and modern Kazakh instruments sound surprisingly bright and melodic: kobyz, sybyzgy, Shan-kobyz, saz-syrnai, Zhetygen, dombra, ADYRNA, sherter, dabyl, dauylpaz, konyrau, asatayak, tuyaktas, kobyz-prima, dombra-double bass. Also included in the Toolkit are an accordion and a block flute. 

The Saryarka ensemble is distinguished by a high performing culture, which is reflected in the amazing technique and excellent sense of style of the performed works. The team has repeatedly participated in international competitions and festivals:

International creative festival-gold medal (France, Dijon; 1999);

International festival of national art of the CIS member States (2002);

V international festival of creative youth "Shabyt" - I place (Kazakhstan, Astana; 2002);

International festival of dance and folk music of the peoples of the world (China, Beijing; 2004);

International folklore festival of Turkic-speaking peoples (Turkey, Yalova; 2006);

II international festival of performers on old stringed plucked instruments "Sadko" (Russia, Moscow; 2006);

International folklore festival (Germany, 2007);

Republican festival-competition of folklore and ethnographic ensembles "Gasyrlar Sazy", dedicated to the 20th anniversary Of independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan-I prize (Kazakhstan, Almaty; 2011);

I Republican competition of ethno-folklore ensembles (Kazakhstan, Taraz; 2019).

For active promotion of Kazakh folk art and high performing culture, the ensemble was awarded the "Keremet" award of the corporate Fund "Capital club of patrons" (nomination "Master of folk genre-2006").

The band was repeatedly invited to perform concerts at particularly important state events. These include the participation of the Saryarka ensemble in the OSCE summit In Astana in 2010.

The band's programs are rich and varied and include music of different genres and genres. These are the concerts "CL koktemi"; "Elec Boyi – Zhyr Meken"; "New year wander"; "Tarlan ku'ıshıge taǵzym", dedicated to Gabdulhak Barlukova; "Ya Sapan Eager", dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the Kazakh Ospan Batyr; "Doberani TTT uni"; "I seemn halimde" dedicated to the 135th anniversary of Kenen Azirbaeva; "Mamedhanova. Segs history" dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Muhamediyev; "Salem Kyz", dedicated to Kyzdarbek Turabajuly etc.

The audience remembered the concert program "Abyz kuishi Kayrakbay Shlekenuly", which became a bright starting point of the new musical page of the group. The idea of the concert arose from the need to popularize and develop the kui of the East Kazakhstan dombra tradition: kuishi Kairakbay Shalekenuly was one of the most influential musicians of this region in the XIX century.

Togzhan Zhakhin and the participants of "Saryarka" have done a lot of work to compile their new concert program, which will show the subtlety and diversity of Kairakbai Shalekenuly's creativity in all its beauty: the kui "Aksak maral", "Mol Konyr", "Tel Konyr" and others were performed in instrumentation for soloists and folk music groups.

In October 2019, the folk music Ensemble "Saryarka", the folk dance Ensemble" Shalkyma "and the pop dance Ensemble" Alem "presented a musical and theatrical production of"Sak patshayymy Zarina".

Presents "Saryarka" and composing works of its artists. So, the evening "Subitem Saryarka" showed original music by the soloists of the collective. The theme of the concert's compositions was extensive: Yerzhan Toksabanava's "Bala Ertis" narrated about Kazakhstan's youth, and his composition "Zaman-AI" - about the country's past. The heroism of ancestors is dedicated to "Batyr babam" by Karagoz Gasimova.

The beauty of the native land was sung in the works of "Alatau ayasynda" Togzhan Zhakhin," Konil koktemi " asset Danenov," Koktem aueni "Karagoz Gasimova," Yesil-Nura " Ulan Bakizhanov. The female image was poetically described by Togzhan Zhakhin in the work "Sulu beine", and Ulan Bakizhanov in the play "ANAMA", etc.

For many years, the ensemble has been performed by such famous performers as honored worker of Kazakhstan Gulzira Bokeikhan, laureate of the youth Union of Kazakhstan Nuray Tanabayev, cultural figure Kunsulu Turlybekova, winners of international and national competitions Altynay mamyrova, perizat Turarova, zhazgul Danylbayeva, Daniyar Mukan, and others.

The geography of the band's performances covers all the cities of our Republic. However, the ensemble brilliantly represents national art not only in Kazakhstan, but also abroad. The most striking performances of "Saryarka" include tours in Russia, Turkmenistan, great Britain, Belgium, Holland, France, etc. 

A sincere love for Kazakh music, great talent and virtuoso possession of instruments allows the Saryarka folk music Ensemble to preserve and widely promote the national cultural heritage. For 21 years of its existence, the band can be proud of the musical achievements that have been recognized in France, Germany, Turkey, Russia, China and other countries.
