The "Alem" pop dance ensemble of the state academic Philharmonic of the mayor's office of Astana was established in October 2016. The ensemble consists of versatile dancers who are able to implement complex choreographic tasks. The skill of the team members is complemented by acting talent, expressiveness and passion for performance.

The artists of the ensemble possess a wide variety of dance styles, showing the richness and beauty of choreographic art at their concerts. Classical dance and modern dance in the art Nouveau style, incendiary hip hop and rock and roll – all this is in the repertoire of the young team.

Currently, the creative baggage of the artistic Director of the variety dance Ensemble "Alem" Laura Mukayeva includes more than 50 different dances – dances of the peoples of the world, various choreographic compositions, set, including, to the music of Kazakh composers (including the outstanding Master-honored worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, knight of the order "Parasat", profesoorah aitkali Zhayymov).

As the choreographer admits, creating a new dance is a long process that can take two months or more. It includes searching for an original memorable melody that will "fit" to the dance, dramaturgic building of the finished artistic image using plastic tools and facial expressions, accurate calculation of the time for each dance gesture and movement. It is also necessary to create a dance that will emphasize the artistic merits of a particular dancer.

The ensemble has prepared many programs for its audience. Among them – "Kun welcoming", "Bi Alemi", "Chatanu", "Bi terragen Astana" with a cascade of dance numbers. 31 October 2018 took place a big concert "Nermin regen 50 years RM" with the participation of artists of the collective. The evening was dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the honored artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor, candidate of art history Toigan Izim.

Artists of the "Alem" pop dance Ensemble successfully work with pop stars, performing at concerts with their own numbers, and making choreographic performances to their songs. For example, the evening "An shyrkayyk bi bilep..." revealed the melodic beauty and musical richness of the songs with the help of beautiful dance movements. The show, where dancers and soloists shone, became an unforgettable concert for the audience.

It is interesting to collaborate with children's dance ensembles: this is how the Philharmonic artists support young talents. "Asylym", "ASYL Mura", "Rauan" and others performed on the stage of the concert hall "Astana" together with the ensemble "Alem".

In the refined movements and clear plastic drawings of the artists, a colorful world is revealed – the entire palette of emotions is subject to the language of dance: from melancholic quiet sadness to the victorious triumph of joy. And the spectacular stage costumes of Altynbek Yermukhan, together with the masterful choreography of anel Islyamova and Laura Mukayeva, only add luster to the concerts of the Alem ensemble.
